Training Programs

Intro to Pole Vault

Ages 10–14 / Zero experience required

A safe, structured introduction to the sport. Athletes learn grip, planting, and basic clearance with beginner poles and low heights.

Development Program

Middle & High School / Some experience

Building on fundamentals with a focus on increasing height, improving run-up, and developing athletic base through strength and sprint work.

Competitive Program

High School Varsity / Serious athletes

Elite technique refinement, competition preparation, mental performance training, and individual coaching for athletes targeting PR heights.

Summer Intensive

All levels / June – July

Daily sessions focused on mastering technique before the school year. The fastest path to improvement for motivated athletes.

Schedule

Weekly Practice

SkyDog training is built to be flexible, consistent, and high-quality — allowing athletes to train multiple times per week while balancing school and other commitments.

Monday – Thursday
Sessions begin between 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, depending on the season and daylight conditions. Each session runs 1.5 to 2 hours.

Sunday

Athletes have two opportunities to train:

11:00 AM Session
6:00 PM Session
Summer Training

Sessions adjusted to avoid peak heat:

Morning: 6:00 – 8:00 AM (or 7:00 – 9:00 AM)
Evening: 6:00 – 8:00 PM
Recommended Frequency

Most athletes attend 3–4 sessions per week, depending on their goals, experience level, and competition schedule.
